I read somewhere that we all have two gifts. My two gifts are to see into and record a sincere world. Professionally this shows up by working as a Photographer and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. To me, they speak to the archetypes of a storyteller and storykeeper. Both provide me with an often, very intimate and honest way of communicating what it means to be alive.
“AT A CORE I WANT MY WORK TO PORTRAY HOW WILD, MESSY, SIMPLE AND PERFECT THIS LIFE CAN BE.”
My work ranges quite a bit these days. I'm happy to shoot anywhere from a story of a local artist to multi-month commercial campaigns. It's really just about getting the chance to pick up my cameras. I am mostly Western-based however, I am happy to travel if your story isn't.
I was born in Saudi Arabia to a family always on the move. Growing up, our travels instilled in me a curiosity for the stories of the world. As a young kid, I remember being fascinated by my father’s cameras and never being allowed to touch them. Looking back probably a well-founded rule. At 14, I found my mentor in my high school photography teacher, igniting a flame that would define my life. Soon, I became known as the "kid with a camera always around his neck," embracing photography as my chosen path.
I want to end with gratitude. I am grateful you are reading this, grateful for art and creativity, and grateful for all who share their gifts.
My journey led me to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography, marking the beginning of a 20-year exploration of the human experience. Alongside my art, I also ventured into the realm of social work, weaving together the different sides of myself. In my work, I find purpose in amplifying the voices of non-profits, brands, and mission-driven organizations, capturing the sincerity and authenticity that define their work.
